I went and had my ground wires redone by Ground Fusion (www.groundfusion.com) this past weekend. I was kind of skeptical if I was going to get much of an improvement over my own DIY grounding kit. The owner was very friendly and knowledgable about proper grounding. He used high quality, high strand count wires with high quality terminal rings that were all properly crimped with this big bench mounted crimping tool. I went with all the suggestions he gave me for my wiring layout. He explained to me that grounding my amps at the battery terminal was a bad idea because it puts strain on the battery. After moving my amp grounds to a common ground point, we added more battery grounds. We also ran a wire from the battery to the bay. He had about 6 ground wires setup for the front. After finishing hooking everything back up, I tested it out and found a huge improvement with my idle and AFR. Sometimes the engine gets so quiet that I have to stop and make sure it didn't stall out. Lol. Alternator whine that was once present in my speakers vanished and the voltage is steady when running my accessories. I may have even gotten some more MPG, but I'll have to wait until a few more fill-ups to test that out. I highly recommend getting your ground wires from him as he has the best prices I've seen, especially with the cost of good wire and terminal rings.

it looks good, make sure u keep us posted about ur MPG, considering here in S. Jersey right now gas is $2.23

looks good. how much did you pay though. Also that set-up is also common with the DSM engines. they help you out a lot and case in point they have helped you out as well.

gas right now runs from 2.07 to 2.43 a gallon for reuglar depending if you are driving in the city or not. the further out you go the higher it gets the highest has been 2.65 a gallon!

I paid $60 for my setup. I'm sure I would have spent the same if not more buying gold terminal rings. Gas is like $2.39 here.

when relocating a battery, is it better to just ground the battery to the trunk or send a ground wire back to the engine bay?

I already have a ground wire DIY in general on my site and I don't think it would be fair for Ground Fusion if I just posted up a complete DIY to duplicate his kit that he custom made for me. As for the battery, it's best to ground it in trunk AND send it to the engine bay. My battery has 4 seperate grounds.

Let me know. Unfortunately both of these guys cars I have worked on are both custom since the battery is in the trunk. Send me some links and I will try to get a few cars in here and get a kit out asap.

Lol. Yeah, the 93-97 here has (hazer00) has his battery in the trunk as well. I'll see if one of my friends might be interested in doing a 93-97 setup.

He'll make a kit for rides with the battery still in front, otherwise you have to get a custom kit made. You might be able to talk to him on the phone and then give him the measurements for some custom wires if your trunk is in the back. I'm in Towson Maryland and Ground Fusion is in Mount Airy Maryland.

My battery is still in the front on my 01. I didnt even see Toyota on his webpage.

That's because my car was the first one he's done. He wasn't able to make it a kit though since I had a non-stock setup with the battery being in the trunk.

I went back down to Ground Fusion this weekend with two 97 Corollas; one auto and one manual.

The auto, which had it's grounding kit replaced with the Ground Fusion one, noticed an immediate performance gain. It had higher and more steady voltage readings (from ~10V idle to 12V+ idle) as well as a noticable torque increase when hitting the gas.

The manual had a noticable increase as well:

"after my ECU finally set itself, it was beautiful. my engine is extremely smooth at idle, can't hardly tell it's on. definitely more torque pull on the highway, and my engine doesn't feel like it's straining @ 5000 RPM. and everything is just a lot smoother."

mmmm.. sexy stuff! when he makes a kit with instructions for sale I might one for sure!
I did make your DIY and notice a WAY better idle and highway economy

FYI - I should be getting my wires re-done by this place tomorrow and after that hopefully he can start producing kits for all the 98-02 rollas

It'll be a kit with fully detailed written directions and pictures with all the cables marked. He just has to sit down and write it up all, which may take a few days. I'll point him to this thread.

i emailed the guy from groundfusion and asked when he would have a kit done for the 98-02 rollas and this is his reply:

He's doing jiggaman's Corolla tonight.

yeah he just did mine...only took about an hour or so...AND he helped me with another electrical problem i was having. He's a really cool guy and I'd definitely recommend doing business with him.

DEFINITELY!!! my car responds alot quicker when i hit the gas and it shifts smoother and more efficiently (auto). My A/C is alot colder too. I'd definitely recommend getting his kit.

Any word the availability of this kit?

Soon. The guy's been busy cranking out Scion kits that he hasn't had time to write up the instructions. He said next week hopefully.
