I have cheap rotors with Monroe ceramic pads. Never had a problem with dust or noise. Have about 40-50k miles on them with still about 80% padlife.

    Slotted rotors work well.

Pads are a personal choice. Metallic, Semi-Metallic or Ceramic. I like Ceramics and get mine from Pep-Boys. I hear good things thou about Hawk Pads.

Rotors don't throw that much dust its the pads reason why I use ceramics. If I was to use metallic I would be cleaning my wheels daily, white rims are FTW and FTL at the same time, but with the ceramics I am going a week and my rotors are still stock and need to be replaced soon.

I have cross-drilled rotors and Hawk HP pads up front, certainly way better than stock. I would recommend those pads to anyone.

I have EBC Dimpled and Slotted rotors. Unlike Drilled rotors, dimpled rotors are less likely to crack. I'm also running Hawk HPS pads. Makes a world of difference over stock rotors and pads.
