    Got a new car

03 s2000. 40k miles. Stage 2 Greddy turbo, tuned by some shop here in Hawaii. Skunk2 Pro C Coilovers. For $10,000

Catch: It won't pass CO emissions. It will cost me 3k to ship HI - CO. Fully insured it will cost me more than triple my corolla, so it isn't on my insurance yet. The seats are pretty destroyed, the battery was fully dead, and there is no shift knob, and a huge dent in the door.

I drove it out today after replacing the battery, and this thing hauled balls. 0-60 probably around 4-4.5, less than 5 with conservative shifting. My dad will be driving it while im not out here in Hawaii, I sold my Jetta that was out here which helped pay for this.

    edit: misworded my op

DO eeetttt...Only reason I did this is because I sold my jetta for $9,500, and because it was in my neighbors drive-way for the past year and hasn't really moved since he had a kid. IM basically going to have to sell my corolla to pay for this thing to get shipped out/CO legal.

meh ive shipped cars from hawaii to colorado before...namely my corolla. so i figured the pricing would be about the same. mechanically there is nothing wrong, its just cosmetically in rough shape. There are legitly spiderwebs growing on the passenger seat...ill try to snap a picture of them tomorrow.

    Grats man, but seriously:

You could fly to LA for dirt cheap and drive the thing to Denver for EASILY under $500. You've already admitted you're lazy and don't do anything to save money. But good lord man. I got a quote for 1600 miles from Ohio to Denver to have a Vette shipped and it was only $680. There's absolutely no reason you need to be paying $3000 to get a car from California to Denver.

I can't imagine how much money you'd have if you'd just do a little leg work rather than paying to have it done for you.

Hell for 2 grand I'll drive it from CA to CO, and I'll take better care of it than a shipping company. ;)

Pfft that's only 2 days of driving...buy my bus/plane tickets, hotel rooms and food, toss me a few hundred bucks and we'll be golden. :D I can stay a night Vegas for free, too..cuts the cost down. ;)

Round trip Boston bus ticket - $60
Flight from Boston to LA - $130
Flight from Denver to Boston - $180
    Gas (assuming 20mpg at $3.20/gal) - $163.36
    Hotel - $100

$633 + food in expenses...I'd do it for $1k all inclusive, assuming those prices are about right (just did from Orlando FL to Lebanon NH for $1k with everything - fourth time I've driven that car up or down the east coast for someone). And damn, dude...that's paying all expenses plus extra for me to fly out there, burn time off, and fly back - it'd be cheap as hell for you to do it yourself!

Reason I don't want to drive it is because I don't want to put all that mileage on the car. I already asked about the hard top, and my insurance agent said the price won't change. I will have to check on shipping prices again, the prices I got quoted were for a fully insured ship so if anything happens to the car they will pay for it. It ended up being around 3k from Hawaii to Denver. my op was misworded. Space on the boat is expensive, and to airfreight it is even more expensive. I'm fine with leaving it here in hawaii until I can afford it in CO. Because it won't pass emissions, and i cant afford the titling fee.

jlee, its faster to go through reno than vegas to get to co from ca ;)

a bit of wishful thinking on the 0-60 times but nice find. The AP1 gets to 60 in a hair over 6sec with quick shifting. I own a Honda and can safely say they are wonderful cars...its some of the owners that make them look bad...enjoy.

    the hell is an ap1/ap2?

I know nothing about this car other than what the guy told me was in the engine. I visually inspected it and nothing is wrong but what I have in the OP is what he told me is in it. and the 0-60 time is not so far off. A stock s2000 has done 6seconds flat on 0-60 (I read it in a car and driver a while back) and with the turbo + tuning it is not hard to see getting an extra 50-60hp out of the car making it around the 300whp range...torque idk. It would easily shave off an second - second and a half of 0-60 time. The handling is pretty tight too, except 3 of the tires are bald, 1 was replaced so its brand new. It wobbled a little on high speed turns (about 60 mph on the freeway) So I'm going to replace those while im out here.

it's a nice find, but you messed up on just visually inspecting it and not getting it looked at by a mechanic, unless you posted you did that and i didn't see it. a car sitting for a year not being stored correctly (ie: sitting in driveway) can cause damage you can't see be a pain in the ass later down the road.
