Okay so heres the thread.
Let me give you a low down on whats going on.

So me and this girl are close as.. shes 15, i am 17. We both dont care about age, nor would our parents.

My family = not religious
Her and her family = VERY religious

her family doesnt know about me, and because of their family ideology, they probably wouldnt let her see me, and because of their religious views, she wouldnt lie to her parents to see me. because lieing is wrong.

So, conundrum? i think so....

just be yourself and be somewhat careful to not say SINFUL AND ATHEIST EXPRECHUNZ

First of all 17 to 15 is not an age gap. That's a 100% non issue.

Second, if you are so caught up on the religious views you might as well leave her be right now.

Third, by your own admission you believe in god. Therefore you are NOT an atheist.

If you can respect her parents religion and they can respect your beliefs, all is well, otherwise, I don't recommend having a very deep relationship. (coming from someone who was in that exact situation other than age... happened multiple times. hehe)

she is incredibly cute. but she is VERY family orientated, so she would never lie to her parents or anything. but then again, i guess she's really the one with the dilema. SK149, good advice, if she was a girl like that, but shes not.
she has blonde hair blue eyes, beside me, she's short, but its cute. the way her parents have raised her is really good, shes actually more mature than 90% of girls i know that are my age. ill let you know where things go.

Just be careful when you turn 18 then it is definitly ILLEGAL and you could become a sex offender if the law finds out .

no, not when you have been dating for a very long time. you can easily argue that. especially when both parents know that you two have been dating.

The rules may be different in Australia. But in the states, the length of time you've been dating makes no difference in the eyes of the law. Underage woman + 18+ male is a bad situation.

what you have to look for in the US is the age of consent which varies by state. some states or it could be counties have some kind of buffer built into the law meaning if she's 17 and you're 18 you are usually ok.

Depends on what state you live in. Also, some states have a "Romeo and Juliet" law that says if your ages are less than five years apart, the older person can't be charged with a sex crime.

I think it's a little too young to be worrying about religion stuff at that age...just move on if you think it's too much of a hassle and find someone else. This can drag out for YEARS. I've seen it happen to many friends. I know a couple who has been going out with each other for about 8-10 years now and their parents still don't know...
