nope. that was an exploratory rig.

prices will increase due to the season, not that rig going down.

This has turned out to be worse than originally projected- of course BP would pad it a little, as the responsibility falls on them for this.

BP has repeatedly suffered accidents like this in the past and it doesn't surprise me that another like this would happen again. There needs to be strictly regulations and rules in place to monitor.

bp has been saying they will pay for the entire clean up which means they will raise prices so that they don't hurt the bottom line and let all the citizens pay for it. i wish there was some kind of regulation for oil.

This isnt necessarily BP's fault- the media is just running with "BP" since its a big, well known name. BP is getting a ton of heat in the headlines because they are the recognizable name in this situation. They should be getting a ton of blame since they own the oil coming out of this well, but the truth is I would guess 6 people maybe get on that oil rig actually got a paycheck from BP.

BP doesn't own that rig that went down nor did they operate it. BP contracts that rig from another company which owns and operates that rig under their own conditions. BP entered into agreements with the Rig Operator. The Rig Operator charges BP daily and hourly fees to use the rig. At the end of the day, you have to look at the operators of this rig when thinking about who really effed up.

Now to the rig operator. They have to figure out, along with BP, who and what messed up. It's going to be really hard to do considering all the data is underwater with the rig. Some rigs stream data back onshore via satellites, but I haven't heard of this rig doing this. The rig operator doesn't manufacturer all the parts that go onto this rig, so they are going to look at the parts manufacturer being that the Blow Out Preventor (BOP) didn't work at all. The BOP sits at the ocean floor (about 5000 ft with this rig), so setting it off manually has to be done roboticly. BP and the Rig Operator have failed to accomplish this yet, so the have effed up there big time as well. Also, how did the situation get that bad. If there was gas traveling up the well and if that was the ultimate cause, how did it get that bad. Generally drillers can alleviate this without a problem.

So you essentially have 3 parties here:

Parts manufacturer of the BOP ---> Rig Operator -----> BP (who owns the oil coming out)

BP has little to do with the daily operations, however they receive all the benefits of that oil coming out of the ground. I'm really pissed about the effects this will have on the shorelines. I'm an avid fishermen, so I have a lot of sympathy for the wildlife and industry itself. I hope all three parties here get nailed to the stake for this. I just think the media is putting all the focus on BP 'cause it's the sexy name when there are two other parties who probably have just as much fault.

Yea its cleaned now picture was taken during winter of last year and I just recently repainted the front clip since I have all new plastic up front thus why you see print's all over it from this picture. To the other person Yea I ain't too key on black either but I;m having another color added on very soon. Very likely going with red since that's the accent color and doing a two tone strip in the middle.

I have racing plastics that are in white so if I want to change out the color it's as easy as replacing all the plastic
