BTW the 1JZ is a twin turbo. It is VERY similar to the 2JZ. The block is pretty much the same only its a 2.5L vs. the 3.0 for the 2J. 1JZ is a great motor though. Many MKIII supra's swap in the 1J vs the 7M and the 1J is also a popular swap itno SC300's/

Also, someone fit a 2JZ into a BMW M3......so the 1JZ shoudlnt be that tight a fit.

the BEAMS 1jzgte became single turbo with the introduction of the vvti system in 96. before that it is twin turbo. the BEAMS 2jzgte still retain the twin turbo system.

The car is boosting 13 lbs to produce over 300 horsepower and 300 lbs of torque

only getting 300 horse with 13 lbs of boost on the supra engine? seems low to me

I dont know what stock boost is on the 1JZ, but it makes 280HP stock. Also, that 300 figure might be 300RWHP which is quite a bit more than 300 at the crank.

280hp isnt stock. the 2jz is also rated at 280 but here in the us it rated at 320. 280 is the gentleman law where the japanese cant exceed the 280hp barrier. but in realitiy the japanese dont give a care about the europeans. so the 1jz produces a little over 300hp. the japanese last gen Toyota Mark II/Cressida made 300hp stock from the 1jz.
