TRD 4000S Hilux

Here is my 2009 4000S Hilux.
Runs the 4 litre V6 with a TRD Eaton supercharger kit, backed by a 5 speed auto.
So far Ive installed a 7 psi pulley and with the stock tune, it made 244hp at the wheels.
Its a nice ute, I have a few more bits and pieces coming for it as well.

TRD Australia lowered the SR Hilux 20mm to get it to where the 4000S sits now...

No fog lights.

I have good eyes and the more weight, the slower you accelerate.
No use having a car with 300rwhp and takes off like a pregnant elephant.

To be honest, TRD is sort of laughed at here in Oz, even though I have a new respect for it, i've had many toyotas over the years and this one has the same reliability, with individual looks and a bit of stonk.

I don't think a set of fogs will add that much weight...and a truck is kinda heavy to begin with. 300hp in a truck isn't all that much. Throw it in a car and you have something. I think fogs will enhance the look. I put fogs on my car and believe me...you don't feel the added weight.

Wired up the Interceptor ECU last night, goes pretty hard, but the trans is flaring between shifts under power.
Waiting on a shift kit for it, should be here this week.
On the dyno tomorrow, will post power figures when I can.

258.48 hp at the wheels

Still very rich under load, but the interceptor will allow me to tune that out when I can.
Waiting on the shift kit still, will go a lot harder after that is in.

Engine bay shot with K&N Intake kit

Just out of curiosity, are these the same 4.0 V6 in the US Tacoma? I was just curious cause my dad's 05 Tacoma supposedly makes 245 stock and yours is supercharged...or did you mean 244 on the wheel?

Yeah mate, it's the same engine.

Mine is making 270hp at the back wheels, which, if you work on the "hp at the wheels is kilowatts at the flywheel", means about 360hp at the flywheel.

Got these today, I'll fit them on the weekend.

The extractors are on, i'm very impressed.
Sounds a heap better and goes noticeably harder too.

why does our Tacoma looks cheap vs this . Seriously Toyota dropped the ball's on the 05- up Tacoma with it's crappy smc plastic bed. My friend had one in Mi and traded that first 2005 model year in due to the bed breaking in half. Personally Toyota needs to go back to the drawing boards and make a mid sized truck with a steel bed .

The 'canisters' are the primary cats, after those, there is another O2 sensor, then a secondary cat.

what size is your pickup bed? In the states we have this cheap Plastic bed in the Tacoma and it comes in a long bed and short. Your's looks like the short bed.
