    HID Yellow???

Does anyone know where I can get a yellow HID kit....or even a set of actual HID yellow bulbs for a decent price (found some on ebay for well over $100...too expensive)...ive always loved those japanese yellow headlights but half of them use a yellow film to go over the headlight itself....

So...if ne1 knows where to get ne of the following, please share, thanks guys!

    -Yellow HID kit
    -Real HID yellow bulbs
    -Yellow headlight film

(and yes its legal, oklahoma law says that the only color of light that can be emitted from the front of your vehicle can only be white, (bluish-tint, cant remember what they called it), and amber (called and they said this color is vague)

Although this is on a porsche, this is the look im going for...

Nope, the film is actually somewhat of a molding of your headlights....not really a film but more like a stiff plastic cover...i mean, its cool n all having those purplish or bluish HID headlights but i dont see any yellow HIDs and those are my favs...

i think that yellow is cuz of the films. if you observe that pic carefully the inside (grill area) of the lights is yellow.

Turismo - if you want yellow HID then go with the 3000K setup but why yellow HID? I know you said you like the color but going yellow defeats the purpose of the HID (or maybe it yellow HID light= white Halogen light?)

You said that you don't want them yellow all the time :superconf how are they not going to be yellow all the time?

You'll have to let me know how the whole HID in our projectors goes. I'm wondering what the pattern will be 'cause I could always use more light [Insert Tim Allen grunt] :D

There's a reason lexus has yellow in the foglight. Because it shoot through fog better than white light.

well i was referring to what ae102 was sayin bout painting my headlights....like i dont want it to be painted on yellow all the time, where as if i had the film, i could always just take it off without it being permanently fixed to my headlight unit....but yea, im really thinkin bout just buying a good like 7000k hid kit or something n just replace the bulbs with 3000k...thats alot to spend but i really like the look....and moonshado, youre right. They make yellow headlight covers for porsches....a handful of the LeMans cars have them on their porsches.

^That's for the bulb only tho. You still need the other components like the ballast and ignitor.

I have a love/hate for HID's my mom's accord bulb burned out on the right side and dang that little sucker was expensive 65 Bucks and they were a B-tch to change.I love yellow but they just don't got with my car. so i have silver stars atop and high beams and Pilot hyperwhite bulbs for the fogs. I am happy to say are very bright and people have mistaken my head lights for HID's since i removed the internal metal covering so it show the enitire bulb.

My volvo came with yellow lights and fogs (car was directly imported from Sweden) they were cool , only problem is that i had to convert to regular after the headlights burned out.

the BMW came only with the High beams in yellow but they never worked they were burned as well.

actually, yellow headlights would go great with a white colored car 01rollas....but my car is like dirt colored (nah, like a gold or champagne or something) n i keep thinkin it would look good....but man, im kinda gettin let down by all these high prices for the bulb only....just like sxlost posted, they're pretty expensive and i havent been able to find HID yellow bulbs for under $100 neway...

so you think yellow would look good on mine? Well there are alternatives such as yellow coated bulbs that you can buy and from the few that i have seen are pretty bright and they are silverstars with a yellow coat and my friends bulbs have not changed in appearence they are still the same.

trust me if i had the money i would still go with HID's even if they are 3000K and pay the extra money if i had it. but soon enough i will buy some for the low/high beam, and fog lights.
