red cross donatations = lame

After hearing about how the Red Cross has handled the donations I will never donate to them again and glad I didn’t for Haiti. I don’t know if anyone else has seen this, but they do not give the money donated to help the disaster to the people that it was intended for.

Haiti Example:
Red Cross “raised” $255 million for them, yet only $80 million was spent or committed to help Haiti. That leaves $175 million donated, but NOT used.

9/11 Example:
Red Cross “raised” $564 million for the Liberty Fund and only distributed $154 million. That leaves $410 million donated, but NOT used. Red Cross had a total of $1.1 billion donated up to 2005, but I can’t find the final figures it distributed.

San Francisco Earthquake Example:
Red Cross “raised” $50 million for them, yet only $10 million was spent to help. That leaves $40 million donated, but NOT used.

I understand there are operating costs, but the percentage that actually goes out to help is laughable. I also found a mention that the Red Cross is about $90 million of free ad time on tv, radio and print.

And hence why I don't donate. I'm guessing someone(s) in Red Cross got really rich.
