Thanks for the info. I just now was able to get on to check the responses. Unfortunately, I'm not a big gambler. But I got a few suggestions from a few people at work and they said to try the gambling and that its not as bad during the week as mentioned in one of the posts above.

I also got told (besides this forum) that the buffets are good at the MGM. But if I have time, I'd like to wander off to another one.

I'll def get out there and check out the other spots some more. I leave DC at 4:35pm and its a 5 hour flight so I figure by the time I get there, it'll be around 7pm or so. I'll at least have Friday to walk around and take pictures.

    Thanks again!!!

Vegas ain't no joke!! lol. I love it so far. WPPI is amazing! So much networking and so much info for starting a business and what not! I left the hotel for quick pics but thats about it.

My flight felt like forever but it got interesting. A guy drank too much and was giving people a hard time. So when we landed, 5 police officers came on board to arrest him. so my arrival started pretty interesting.

Thanks for the suggestions again. I plan on doing some walking around tomorrow morning. Then its off to some classes and then a Canon Welcome party. Then monday is a pool party after some more classes.

being 21 here would be no joke!!! lol. but those damn drinks are expensive. We went to Rouge and then Tabu here at the MGM and it was crazy when we got the bill. Got back about 3:30am and I passed out as soon as my head touched that bed! lol.

I'm trying to enjoy my time here. Just a little home sick. Miss the wife and furry kids. My first time I've ever been this far away from them.

that's why locals tend to stay off the strip.

I would too if it was that expensive. I went to Mandalay Bay last night for a party in the Penthouse. Off the hook view. Las Vegas is real nice at night. Loved the view!!

when they're small cups with barely any liquor, yes thats expensive for me. Beers were a good price. It was just the liquor that was expensive.

any club/bar you go to is always expenisve,so your best bet is to buy your own liquor and beer and go in buzzing.

Im usually the around October/November for SEMA. The cheapest place to stay is usually Excalabur which is just across from the MGM. Dick's on the ground floor has affordable drinks too.

And I'm Asian, crab legs at buffets is too much trouble for me. I stay away.

Lesson learned. It was my first time to Vegas. I mean I can't complain that much. It was a free trip. And since I don't gamble much then I just used whatever money I had for meals and drinks. I would of bought a bottle but not everyone drinks what I do so that bottle would have been all on me to finish. I just needed drinks here and there. I wasn't looking to get wasted cause I had classes to take.

But at least I know what to expect when I go back!! I lost some weight by walking so much! lol. But it was fun. Just wish I had more time to myself but it is what it is.

Defiantely bring a bottle of liquor with ya to your room, and get buzzed/drunk that way.

Though the clubs in AC are putting bar tabs towards comps amounts, so I loaded it up at the bars.

I have so many comp rooms at numerous casinos in AC i dont even know what to do with them.

bring an ice chest to the room and start your drinking, then take a few down to the strip with you while you walk around. beer is the purest form of alcohol on the strip. mixed drinks are watered down.
