I thought that the 98-00 used the same cluster, they changed wiring in 2001 I believe, which caused a malfunction and the rear defrost light would come on when u hit the turn signal, or something like that

I found the thread i read it from, I quoted it, "I need a little please. I just swapped my gauge and everything work great but unfortunately when I signal to the left the green arrow does not blink instead it is the defoster on the gauge that blink. Anyone know how I can fix this problem?" A reason someone posted,"There's differences between 98-00 and 01-02 clusters that will require repinning connectors AND soldering wires and perhaps more to make work." heres the source, http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-221721.html, theres more info on it in the thread and more people that posted the same problem

i have a 02 corolla s cluster in mine the one that is red and black. It works fine but the left turn signal does not light up. I personally don't care It looks better than black and green. Other than that it works fine,

you couldve just bought guage faces for it, for a lot cheaper.

also @ op...why do you want an 01-02 guage anyway? they are the same.

So if you are worried about the 01-02 fitting, you can get a 98-00 LE w/ tach

Stock tach looks better than any monster rice tach you bolt to your dash.

I can attest to the weirdness of the defroster light when you have a 01-02 cluster in a 98-00
