    If anybody is interested... Tercel 4x4 in socal...

    Got all giddy cause I'm an oldschool car guy, love the classic looks- and I love ugly cars, just something about their oddness.

    Saw this: 1984 Toyota Tercel on craigslist

    It's he's right, a new pressure plate is about $50, seems to be a fun beater 4x4 car- reviews says it was a tank.

    My first thought- Drop a Rav4 4x4 engine and you'd be pushing the 62hp stock to ~120-130hp... Alas, I found out the tercel has a weird drivetrain, and there's tons of complications/little info on an engine swap. Just had daydreams of a ridiculously light/powerful/4x4 tercel on the road seemed fun- especially under $2k all said and done.

    I dont know if the drivetrain and joints/pieces will hold 120-130 hp. :D:rolleyes: Its a tercel after all... Maybe it was made to have less than 100hp in the wheels. :p

    I tell you what, if I win the lottery, Ill fund your 4x4 tercel project.
