Of courses its all about the show and money, why else would they be doing it if they weren't putting on a show and making money....just like any other sport. Its entertainment.

boxing is the only sport that cares less about the fight/main event and more about the build up. they have to make money, but boxing is so self absorbed that they don't care about giving the fans what they want to see. i've given up on boxing, but this is one fight i would like to see. boxing needs to be saved and this is the fight that has the potential if mayweather would get his head out of his ass.

Thats true IKON, boxing has come down in entertainment for a while. I haven't seen much of a good fight for a while. Pac is pretty sick though and he proved it in last fight.

I don't quite see this. When they are on the ring, they go all out and fight. Depending on how good the fight is going, people are most of the time off their seat or biting their nails. How does that "care less" about the main event?

Put yourself in their shoes and maybe you will understand. Everyone wants to have an advantage in the fight. Everyone wants to win. Will you care more about "the masses" rather than winning a fight? Will you want to blemish your nice scoreboard for "other people"? On top of that, will you want to lower your retail value???

I know that might be selfish but I know even you are not that angelic.

i am not talking about the fans, but the boxers today. it's been a while since a main card fight has stood toe to toe and fought it out in a big fight. boxing is entertainment and because there's less fighting boxing is losing out to mma. main cards have been subjected to grabbing and holding instead of fighting. de la hoya used to be the fighter that put on a show until he started singing and turned into a bitch (my favorite fighter from the late 90's). pacquiao (sp?) will stand there and fight, but he can't be the only one or boxing will disappear. in that sense, the fighters already got their pay day win or lose. there's no prize at the end for them to go all out do very few do.

this is what has drawn me to mma. fighters want to fight and put on a show and since the money is the not greatest they truly want to fight. japan is a country where you can put on a good show, lose and have a profitable career in mma. it's not always about winning or losing for mma. ufc will have some fights where people squeak out a win (typical of wrestlers), but it's few and far between.
