I think the only issues should be in the firewall... since the exhaust is pointing to the firewall... but other than that I don't see a mayor reason why not

Why would you want to? The 4A engines have so many more parts available, and a turbo setup would be easy.

if your thinking of any newer engine its 2ZZ or bust, stick with your 4A in your 7th gen so much more support for that engine

Stick with a 4a motor. Even when you do swap in a 1zz, you don't gain much.

Go with a 2zz man, loads of parts, way more power stock and even lift hehehe.... or if you want crazy amounts of boost then get one of the Scion tC engines and swap it in there 2AZ-FE FTW when it comes to boost lol....

its a direct fit with the exception of the left side transmission mount. you may have some issue with the sway bar clearance from the sway bar tho.

If you want power, go with the 3sgte. Tremendous power potential. I think a 3sgte from a Caldina could reach 300hp with the regular bolt ons. But if you have a 4age, then that's an awesome engine that ALMOST ALL us USDM guys could dream of. Stick with that. Not the fastest engine, but balanced.

Keep in mind block weight and the weight ratio of the car. Don't imbalance it more than it is already.
