Computer Virus help - Win vista

Last night i opened a picture in google and my computer completely messed up... i kept getting a bunch of strange pop ups telling me i had malware and key loggers and spyware shit on my computer and kept popping up with these virus scan things... well now my computer background is all black with no icons and i can only see my tool bar on the bottom... i tried to do a system restore to a previous time but it says i have no restore points? and sometimes when i restart my computer it tells me my computer is gonna restart in one minute because of an error, is there anything i can do without losing all my music? which is what im mainly worried about.

Back up your files with an external and nuke the system. Then scan the files you backed up before transferring.

I suggest you get a new virus software. I recommend the Eset NOD32.

back up everything that you need, put your windows disk in the drive, don't close it yet, restart your computer, it should ask you to hit any key to boot from CD, if it boots in to windows, you need to set up the CDrom to boot before the Hard drive. then just follow the instructions in the windows setup for a new install..
