It would create less drag, and less turbulence under the car, which, in theory, could help generate a little bit more downforce (actualy, it won't generate downforce, just restore downforce lost from all the turbulence)

but most avg driving its not really worth it. maybe if your cars strictly a show car or a track car i could see its benefits but driving down the expressway or around town its useless.

the bottom of the 03 is pretty flat except the little gap around the engine and trans i still wouldnt do it i think it'd be horrible for ventilation of the engine compartment.

Some of the Celica users have this setup on thier ride and they noticed a difference when driving (as opposed to not having any underbody covers on).

Aluminum sheet metal and rivets basically. If you make one for your ride, be sure to vent air towards the oil pan.

Off the top of my head:
Cusco Front lower tie bars (MT only)
    Cusco Comp-S. Zero1 & Zero2 coilovers
    Cusco LSD
    Cusco Front strut bar
Cusco Rear strut bar (not sure about sedans)
Cusco/Safety 21 3/4/5/6 pt roll cage (again not sure about sedan)

And i'll be sporting at least one of these parts by the end of the yr. :D
