    found a place in ontario california, sells silvertops complete, no tranny for 250!
    wat do u guys think! should bolt up to my 7afe's tranny right?

    Check the motor's condition first and mileage. If doesn't run, you have to fix it first.

    no you need a A246E transaxle to run the silvertop. Either run a C52 5spd or find a silvertop that already has a automatic tranny attatched.

    From what I've read, silvertops only dyno around the 120whp mark so won't the automatic tranny sap the power even further?

    I'm guessing that it wouldn't even redline in every gear.

    The auto gear ratios wouldn't do it justice either.

    we'll most of the cars dynoed also suffer from rwd drivetrain lost. I expect to see ~130-135 on a FWD 5spd transaxle seeing that it is rated at 160HP.

    The interesting thing is there are plenty of blacktops and silvertops corollas and levins in Japan. Finding one is not very hard.
