    AE82 just hit 60k miles...

... and still running strong! :rule:

Stuff I recently did (or did this year:(
    replaced break pads
    replaced 4 struts
    replaced rear springs
    replaced inner/outer tie rods

    Stuff I have to do:
    drum break job
    change break fluid/bleed lines
    fix tranny oil pan
replace ECT sensor and fan switch
    AC job
    Power Steering fluid change (?)

    Stuff I will do today:
test detailing products on hood. I will do 2 layers of ultimate compound by hand, 1 layer each of deep crystal polish and NXT2.0 wax probably apply by hand then buff out with buffer. Ill see how it looks over the weekend. If shine stays, ill do with the entire car.

    Pix up later.

I like that Deep Crystal Polish...good stuff
Also, that NXT wax not only looks good, but lasts a long time. Even through rain and washings. REALLY good stuff.
Lemme know what you think after this weekend

    Good Luck with the detailing.

By the way, you press your "brakes" to prevent you from "breaking" your car. Its just something that annoys me. :)

    EDIT:
there seems to be some little white paint dots that stuck to the car from God knows where... Looks like I'll have to claybar them the car for them to come off. I can use my nails and they slide off...

Looking good. Did it take the whole day? I told you before that when I compounded and polished my car it took me the whole day. Also, when you do the clay bar there is no need to polish again. Just lay down a bunch of coats of wax to protect your work. I would probably wax it every week for a month or two, so you can build up a good layer of protection.

well you might want to polish the rest of the car real good then. If you do it right and protect it from wax you won't have to do it again. I look at it as do it right the first time

Nice! That is one of the cleanest AE82 I've seen. Interior looks mint - great looking car. Hell of a difference after you compounded the finish - original finish? A night to day transformation - great work.

The white dots sound like environmental deposits or overspray from someone shooting white paint close by. Claybar should clean those up. A paint cleaner can do that as well - depends on the dots themselves. If they are not chemically soluble - then you'll get better results with a clay bar (mechanical process). I've seen cases where surface contaminants are so hard, that using a more abrasive compound just made them worse (urethane overspray - harder than the clear coat - so polishing process just ground the clear down more aggressively, causing the overspray "dots" to really become pronounced.

Since you already did the compound and polish, you could try a cleaner wax. I used it to take off overspray, before I had ever heard of a clay bar.

    @ Fish:
The dots can be removed mechanically. I tested this using my nail to scrape one dot off and it did easily. Thats why I thought the compound should have done it.... Ill probably claybar when the temp gets cooler... 2-3 months from now.

    And yes, its original paint/finish.

After the claybaring I will do in the near future, everyone will ask if its original paint or did i have it painted lol.
