Nothing a BFH can't solve. I eventually went and bought a BiggerFH.

'05 Dodge Dakota, about 30k miles since the last brake job. This is a first for me.

    wrd.

    Edit:
I need to do the drums before they end up like this... It seems like *looking at the repair manual* that the rear requires more work... Yes?

I am currently having the same problem with my car. What should have been a two hour job is going on day 4 now. Took me and my brother about 5 hours to get one rear drum off and that is using a blow torch (yes we broke the wheel cylinder as well so that had to be replaced as well lol). Rotors are also rusted on. Such a pain in the forking a$$.

umm , did you release the "star" tensioner , thats accessible through the back of the drum? remove little rubber rounded rectangular shaped plug , and use 2 flat head screw drivers to loosen the "star wheels" and drw the shoes back in , to clear the inner lip on the drum itself.

Yes sir. The drum was spinning freely. The entire time. They have just seen one too many Chicago winters and were rusted shut lol. Finally got my car off jackstands tonight. Hawk HPS Pads up front paired with Brembo blanks. Cheap autozone shoes and drums out back.

That brings back horrible memories.............. 90 Jeep CJ7 that was run on the beach. The front rotors came out in about 15 pieces and the rears almost required explosives.

We get stuff like that at work all the time. Many chrysler vans rear drums break when we hammer at them. Ford F-150s are the worst when it comes to front rotors weve noticed. We charge them extra labor because every one that does come in ends up taking an extra half hour just pounding the rotors off.

O damn... Might as well hop on one of these break jobs on "sale" things and have them do my rears... :/
