I have a set of flat black 16" Drag wheels (DR23) made in the image of Rotas. I was told they are made by the same company that makes the Rotas.
They look good without being too large and are relatively inexpensive if you ever need to replace them.

I think rotas aren't that bad. It's not like we have bagged Lexus's running on Rota's.

As long as you don't use them competitively or purposely drive over potholes or drift on them, you're fine. LOL

Have you ever used them competitively and the rim bent or broke or came off your car? I think people just propagate what some other ignorant person says and paste on the internet. Experience is the best teacher.

Let him buy it. They are wheels. If he has problems he will simply change them.
He can do whatever he likes with the wheels.

Please don't start another "Rota hate" thread... ANY wheel that you purposely drive through potholes, push it trough it's limits, use it like you stole it, CAN and break/bent/crack.

The only thing I wish Rota would do is to make their own wheel designs.... but structure, integrity wise.... let's just say they are sub-contracted by some our beloved "JDM" wheel makers.;)

I voted for the Rotas. They're nice wheels for the price and are very light. GSR blades on a corolla is just wrong!

Subcontracted by whom? I know for a fact Work, Rays, and BBS makes everything in house. In fact it is TRD, Mugen, RallyArt, Nismo; even OEM brands like Nissan and Subaru are the ones who subcontracts to the above manufacturers to make their wheels.

    Doooo it

For the price I think Rotas are as good as any cast alloy wheel. It's not forged or steel but it's no Ebay brand either.
Start being worried when the wheel is below $100 each.

    Not all are in-house.;)

They still do the final QC and testing because it's their "company name" at stake.:)
