    Slotted/cross drilled rotors....

What do u guys think of these, besides that it looks cool, do they actually help out with braking like provide more stopping power and keeping the brakes cool.

Do they last as long compared to OEM ones?
DO they crack in the winter time when water gets into the cracks and freezes and expands?

I want more stopping power from my brakes! I was thinking about TRD brake pads since they are more able tohandle high heat (700-800) but idk what to get. I'm just tired of having shitty stopping power and my brake pads constantly cracking(even though under warranty)

    PS
i found out that KVR makes crossed drilled rotors and carbon fiber brake pads for 98-00 rollas. I also found out that i need crossed drilled not slotted, i need better heat dissapation and drilled ones are the best way to go.

here is the description of the pads i want:
    Carbon Fibre Brake Pads
KVR Performance delivers a Semi-Metallic Carbon Fibre disc pad which has been proven to demonstrate superior performance.
It's metallurgical formulation exceeds all O.E.M. standards, while still offering a quiet running brake pad with minimal dusting.

and here is the description of the rotors i want

    Cross Drilled Rotors
Cross Drilled Discs offer an enhanced initial bite (more responsive, especially in wet weather)
and greater heat dissipation (reduction in heat induced fade - "brake fade")as compared to O.E.M.
They may also last longer than O.E.M. rotors (depending on your braking style),
with 40% Better Cooling, 20% better stopping, improved wet braking,
reduces rotor warpage, less brake fade and longer life.

What do u guys think about this type of brake setup

You can look at my cardomain site to see the ones i have, and as i will always say, I notice with 100% certainty no increase in braking performance over stock rotors. Some people will state that "the cooling is better", but who really cares you know if your not getting anything out of it?

    dissipate heat faster i guess...

i would say mostly just fo looks, the brakes pads is whats important.

That's what I hear too. Its mostly design for ooh and ahh. I hear the cross-drileld pattern is not good for the integrity of the rotor either.

I have to agree with the previous posts. I have Brembro cross-drilled & slotted rotors. The look cool but they don't perform any better than the stock blanks. Brembro makes the stock blanks and they are as good as any aftermarket rotors. I also agree that the pads will make a bigger difference.

ok maybe i'll try those, cause 'm tired of these constantly cracking and the shop have to replace them for free of course and having to sand down my rotors....

it's the pads that stop the car faster, not the rotors.. slap some Hawk HP+ or some EBC Reds on your stock rotors and you'll stop as fast as u would like. Slotted rotors like powers slots do help a little with evacuating brake dust from the surface of the pads. But cross drilled is completely useless on street cars, in race applications they do help cool down the rotors (to combat brake fade) and vent gases emitted by the brake pads during really hard braking.. but on street cars, where its stop and go traffic.. water, ice and other elements.. holes just help the rotor crack faster.

I had the KVR brembo cross drilled by them and they were excellent. I also got the carbon fibre pads and they sucked! My recommendation if you want to get those rotors is to get the fcross drilled ones and make sure you get teh candium plating so they don't rust as fast. KVR does good machining on their rotors and for nearly 30K they did not warp on me. I sold my car and the rotors went with the car. Oh and I also founbd out that for daily driving and ocassioanl spirited driving nothing beat the OEM toyota pads. One other benefit of the cross drilled less dust on your rims. I almost never had to clean any brake dust from them.

I give them two thumbs up, and KVR is a decent company.\

na im' only gonna get better pads now....
But the pads i got on now are 1 year warranty.......
Maybe i can convince the shop to do sometin like this....i buy the pads and they pay me back for what the OEM pads are worth..... So like the pads are like 80 or whatever for example, they pay me back 35..... idk if that would work, but its a waist of a warranty and for a service that i'm just about finished paying back

I hear stock toyota OEM pads aren't that bad at all either.

the best thing i can tell you is to try them. if you need to replace worn parts then it may be time. if you are upgrading, keep your stock stuff in case you don't like it or once they wear out you may go back to stock.

i am currently running EBC dimpled and slotted rotors with EBC green stuff pads on my corolla.

these are the second set of cross drilled and slotted rotors.
