I'm currently looking at new wheels and of course rubbing is the big issue. My question is, do you think we can run 15x8 +25 offset wheels? I know +35 will work with minor rubbing, but is +25 pushing it too much? lol

The most agressive I've seen was 15X8 +33 with a 195mm tire on a 01-02. The fenders were pulled and it was flush! I doubt it had no rubbing issues.

Personally I'm running a 15X7 +38 with a 205 tire and I have no rubbing issues what-so-ever even at full compression.

I think a 6.5" rim would work at 25offset but no way with a 8" rim

I guess I'll have to find a set of 15x7 with an offset closer to +35. I'm looking at work equip replicas. The Axis Oldskools and Drag DR20s are on my mind.

I'm guessing with your measurements, the sidewall is flush with the rim. No stretching? I would have to go with 195's to reduce rubbing, but I've heard that you can pop the bead off the tires if you stretch them over 8+ inches.

WRONG. Check out the sidewall. That beast is STRETCHED. Ew.

Go with a 15x8 and get +35. It'll look nice. If not, use spacers.

Oh, I was talking about Jspex wheel setup. Most guys use a 195 on an 8 inch wide. And he's using a 205 on a 7 wide. So there shouldn't be as much stretch.

I'm thinking about it. I'm going to need some spacers anyways since I can tell the inner sidewalls of my rear tires are slightly rubbing on the coilover struts. I'll need to reroll my rear fenders too. haha

A 205 on a 7" wheel works fine. I don't rub at all.

I like the stretched look, but I don't like the extreme camber. Its gotta be really bad for your tires too

Where I come from

6.5" wide => 195mm tire
7" wide => 205mm tire
8" wide => 225mm+ tire

according to his car domain he's running 15X8 with a 165mm tire and zero offset.

yeah i think im gonna go -15 offset so i dont have to camber so hard . i do want to strech a tire , but not like his , hence the -15 offset. the good thing is , the wheels are interchangable with my 86 gts coupe

im merely running this setup for looks , at the track i still will be running 215 40 17 . im actually thinking of getting a lightweight set of 16x8's -35 offset w/ a 225-235 for the track. still undecided.

if you run -15, don't even bother with the camber, they'll be sticking out of the wheel wells nomatter what you do.

i ran my old advans at 16x7 +35 and they sat pretty good in the wells, only had the roll the backs

Well I can get Drag DR20s in 15x7 +35 offset. That should be perfect, but I like the Axis Oldskools better. It looks a little cleaner.

ive been looking at getting the drag dr20 for awhile now just haven't save enough money yet. its good that this topic came up.

You've got several options for the same style wheel.

1. Axis Oldskool
2. Drag DR20
3. Maxxim Screech (Konig)
4. Work Equip 03

The differences between each one are slightly different but hardly noticeable. The Axis Oldskools have no step in the out lip and so gives it a smooth 3 inch lip look, while the authentic Works have a step about halfway through the lip. Some actually prefer the Axis because of the cleaner uninterrupted look.

Actually, now that I did more research on it, too many people have this style wheel. Same with my current wheels now. I want something different. LOL I have my eyes on a different unique set now. I just found it and I'm completely speechless. No word on them yet.

yea i know the alot of people have em but ive always liked them. so its time to save up, plus my tires are going bald too. where are you finding the DR20 in +35 offset? i only see them in +40, +10 and +0

There's a few in between offsets out there. You can get the DR20's in 15x7 +38 and 15x7.5 +38 if you're lucky since the sizes are probably discontinued. The 7.5 wide in +38 is discontinued for sure.

can i go 15x7 +10 with 205 50/15 tires and still be ok.

I don't think so. That's too aggressive. +35 is pushing it already. +10 would have the wheels past the fender.
