Need help, writing a sociological paper due tmrw!

    All right, i just needed to conduct a little survey;

If you have a pet, why did you choose it?
Were do you live? Apt? House? Condo? City? Rurual? Urban? Farm?
Did family or friends play a role in your decision?
Did the people you live with play a role?
Anything else lead up to you getting that certain animal? EG: "That pitbul looks dope! maybe i should get one!"

Now in contrast, whats icky to you?
Whats an animal you would never want, spider, lizard, snake, maybe you hate dogs or cats? Why? What reasons? Factors, Family?

Thank so much for help guys it will be really helpful.

I had a pet cat. I named him Loreol I chose him because I caught him about 10 years ago outside in the winter.
    I live in a house 3bdrm
My old best friend helped me catch him.
I was told the resturant where I caught the cat kills them because there are so many around there.

    I miss loreol..:(

Whats icky? hmm I think id have to say Spiders. Watch the ooolld movie Aracnophobia and youd see why.... I watched it at age like 6 maybe? lol
As a kid me and my dad would be working out in his garage and killing spiders when we cleaned the garage was a hobby. I miss being a kid sometimes..

    Hope that helped :)

i have always had a fascination with reptiles, and i'd never had a pet before, so i figured i'd start "easy" with leopard geckos. i started with one and ended up with three. i've had other reptiles, but mostly temporarily - i'd rescued them from certain death, rehabbed them, and rehomed them.

    house in the city

no one had direct influence over my decision at the time.

research. i'd originally wanted something like a chameleon, but they take entirely too much work and require far too much attention. not to mention they'd have died in my old apartment - my roommates at the time had a problem with the thermostat.

i don't find anything living to be "icky" - i wouldn't keep arachnids, as the lack of real interaction would make them more of a show animal than anything else. i let spiders live in my office at home, however...they keep the ant problem to a minimum (old house = lots of pests).

i also will never have another snake. the poop cleanup is the most disgusting thing i've ever encountered. that's the only downside to having a snake.

PS: you should start papers sooner than the day before. ;)

    No Pets

Live in a house with a roommate in a Ruraul Area

Did family or friends play a role in your decision?
Friend needed a room mate, and I needed a room mate as well

Did the people you live with play a role?
Well if you mean when my girlfriend left, and left me alone. Then yes. :p

Oh, and whats Icky to me? Reptiles, I hate snakes and spiders. Anything slimy

I have 8 cats and 2 dogs. 1st two cats were because we just moved into our own apartent and wanted pets. 2nd two were because my fiance loves kittens and our boys were now a year old. The third set we got because my buddy went into the Marines and they were gonna put them in the shelter. The statesboro shelter would have put them down. The 4th set is the same reason as the second set. I cut her off at 8 cats. The two dogs is because I love dogs. Always wanted them but didn't want to have big dogs in an apartment so we got them when we built our house

We lived in an apartment when we got all the cats. Now we have a house out in the country.

My mom had a lab that I loved which is why I got my two boys. They are .25 lab, .25 pit and .5 golden retriever. My fiance is the reason we got the cats.

    My fiance lives with me.

We never went out looking for animals. When friends had litters and we were at a point where we wanted more, we got more. We do try to get different colors when we get them.

I have had lizards. I had iguanas and a chinese water dragon but I would never have a spider or a snake. They give me the creeps. Nothing that I can explain they just creep me out.

i can't say i blame you on the slimy bit. amphibians aren't my favorite, either.

    reptiles, though, are interesting.

a lot of people say that but then I have met people that thought that until they got that one cat that changes them. everyone of my cats have a different personality and it is so cool. my solid black cat, Harry, will steal meat it left unattended. he stole a chicken breast we had marinating one time and it was so funny to see him running around with a chicken breast in his mouth and growling at the other cats that were within 5 feet of him

i like cats and have a cat, but 8 is too many in my opinion. i can only imagine the smell in the house and mess the litter makes.
