    CAI problems

So we hooked up my cold air intake yesterday on my 2005 S and it was running perfect all last night and today until i came home, i disconnected the rubber that holds the pipe to the throttle body because i wanted to switch it out for a different color one, when i put it back together my Check engine light came on and the car was idleing really rough, i tightened everything all the way checkd the cables and everything looked fine, i got in the car and tried to drive it, and the rpm will not go past 3000, it starts to bounce until i let off the gas, i went to auto zone and they hooked it up and came up with code p0103 BBMass or volume air flow circuit fault-high input...it says the probable causes are
    BB1.-Short B+ Circuit
    BB2.- MAF/VAF sensor failure
    BB3.- faulty ECM
the car lets off a bad smell when its running,
this has been stressing me out all day and i havent solved anything, IDK how to check if MAF sensor went bad, so if anyone knows anything about this please let me know
    thank you.

It has to be MAF sensor related so check the maf sensor connector and make sure it is tight. You might also want to clean the sensor using MAF/AFM cleaner spray.

I don't have a shop manual for 00+ rollas so I don't have a procedure for testing it.

After everything disconnect the negative termal on the battery for a couple of minutes to reset the ECU
