looking to buy a truck. need some advise.

well, a tundra fits my requirements so far.

    fits 4 people
would allow 4ft wide sheets of plywood or drywall to lay flat on bed.

however, idk if it would be able to pull a bobcat on a trailer.

i was looking at a 2000 tundra, 4x4, trd off road package, sr5, access cab, 115k mi, for $8k.

my main concern is towing a trailer with heavy loads. would that tundra still fit my needs? thanks!

Turbo Diesel would be your best bet man, a Bobcat and its accessories with trailer is heavy is I remember correctly its above 7,000 lbs

And there's a big market now for aftermarket diesel accessories. You could decide to get more power or get better gas mileage. I've heard of some people that can get 25 mpg on a diesel with the right computer.

If you need something to haul a bobcat, I would definitely recommend a diesel or V-10 super duty type truck. Although, if you know the weight of the bobcat and trailer, check to see if it posts below the max towing capacity of the tundra you are looking at. However, it wasn't until around 04/05 that they beefed up the towing capacity of the previous generation of the tundra...

As for space and hauling, I've got an 06 double cab, 4x2, and I love it. I have yet to deal with anything beyond it's capabilities (hauling dirt, lumber, boat, etc.), but I'd have to confirm the weight of the bobcat and trailer to tell you if it would handle it.

If you had enough to pony up for an 07 08 tundra doublecab w/ the 5.7, that should be able to do the job just fine. If you need to handle the plywood though, just remember the crewmax's bed is shorter.

plywood will not sit completely flat though, due to the rear wheel arches in the bed.
