    Question regarding TRD springs, stock rims and tire size :

    Hello.

    I have TRD springs. I want to replace my Badyear Nointegrity tires with something like the Falken ZE-512 ZIEX in a 195/65R15 size ($48 each shipped). I am keeping my stock rims.

    Is there a paticular size I should get besides 195/65R15 that would look better, considering my stock rims and TRD drop?

    I am a total n00b when it comes to tires and sizes and whatnot.

    Opinions and suggestions are very welcome!

    I have 215/60/15 Dunlop Sport A2s on my car and they are awsome. Grip in dry,wet, icy, and snowy condions. That ratio keeps the tires close to a stock diameter while giving you a little bit of width.

    215 means the width, right? 215 being wider than 195, what happens when you put a wider tire on the stock rims? does it rub? does the tire behave differently? pros/cons?

    They have the same sidewall height approximately, 215/60=3.58 versus 195/65=3.25, that changes the speedometers calibration? Do you notice a big difference?

    Finally, do you have any pics of how these look so I can compare it to stock?

    The main thing I was wondering is what sizes fit on the stock rims when lowered.

    The wider the tire, the more likely it is to scuff on the inside of the wheelwell? Or is that not really a problem?

    Thats a nice site for visualizing the different tire sizes, and it has the bonus of giving you the error correction factor for your speedometer ;)

    215/60/15 will fit fine. you could go 215/65/15 as well. My car is lowered with the ebach pro-kit, about and inch all around even though it looks like two. I have 215/60/15's on a set of 15s for snow tires and its a little smaller then the stock setup i had.

    I dunno why people get faulkins but i had the kumho asx's and they were ight. I now have perellis' pero nero's and they are so much better. Go ahead and drop you car about an inch or so if you're just going springs and get 215/60/15's. you should be fine

    quick question, wouldnt the 215 look like its going to bugle on the stock rims. i mean in a way is it going to look werid like an underinflated tire.

    I have 215 on the stock alloys. Admittedly, yes, they do protrude outwards a little, and so they do look like they're a little too big for the wheel. But my justification was "form follows function" because the extra width on the tire results in a much larger contact patch with the road, and a good tire will also provide tremendous handling improvement over stock. So regardless of whether or not it looks "good," you have to remember exactly why you're upgrading the tires in the first place. And it doesn't look underinflated. It just bulges outwards a little. If the tire really loses pressure, you'll be able to see it just like a regular low tire. It looks the same. The best analogy I can think of is a gigantic whale of a person pulling a tiny ass belt around themselves. That's what it reminds me of when I look at my tires.... shit... my tires look like fat people!!!
