    Statik,
Dude that is really good! How long have you been playing/writing?
Also you said you recorded it? What program or equipment do you use? Is it all real instrumentation?

Not to blow smoke. hehe, but you find someone to write lyrics and sing over this, I could definitely see this out on the radio. :)

Yeah, what equipment did ya use?

That shit is pimp!!! Were all of the instrumentals done with actual instruments, or did you use some piano tracks for the drums and stuff?

Is that you on the guitars?

Thanks for the compliments, everyone! I've been playing for about 10 years. Writing for maybe 8. Yes I recorded it. I've got a decent sound card, nothing special. I use Fruity Loops to create the drum tracks. It's basically a midi sequencer which you can sequence all kinds of samples midi input then export it as a .wav file. Then I take that drum track into CoolEdit or now known as Adobe Audition, a multitrack recording/audio editing program. I'll write to that with my guitar or sometimes keyboard. Then it just starts from an idea and I continue building on the song. I've got a few guitars, a bass, and a keyboard.
All of that is me playing an instrument, or midi sequencing the drum patterns.

As for the guitar stuff... I've got a Korg Pandoras box effects processor. It's small, sounds ok for certain things. I've got a modded Peavey Classic 50 tube amp that I mic sometimes. Other than that, some effects I apply on the audio in the editing process on the computer. I usually will use reverbs and graphic equalizers. As far as mastering, I have a couple direct X plugins that help with that. I use alot of those effects plugins, they're great!

I wish I could sing, or get together with some people. Music is really my passion, and right now it's kind of on hold. But one day I'll be able to do something more with it.

thanks, :p pimp. hehe. Yeah thats me on guitars. Basically, the drums are recorded by midi with my piano keyboard. One of these days I want to get an ACTUAL drum set, or even better, a REAL drummer! :)

I'm a real drummer. :) LOL I think that's really cool dude. I just started writing a little over a year ago. I've been a drummer for almost 15 years now, and I took up acoustic guitar last December. Thanks for the motivation, dude. :) I need to get an electric to use for recording. I've been looking at a (spelling sorry) Schecter BlackJack, with Duncan pickups. :) I use a Roland MC-909 for most of my stuff. Its great for percussion sounds and whatnot, but the guitar sounds really lack. Can't beat the real thing I guess. I was into making dance and hiphop music for a long time, but now that I am playing guitar, I'd love to do stuff like this. ...also like you, I cannot sing. LOL

Really! Cool. Looks like a decent guitar. I can vouch for the Duncan Jeff Beck pickups. I've got on in my Les Paul. It's a really hot pickup, just SCREAMS! Very nice crisp sound. I have been making hiphop beats for about 6 years. Traditionally the hiphop sound isn't really what I consider music, but a product. I've been able to have fun making hiphop sounds, while making more musically satisfying recordings.

It would be really cool if somehow we could collaborate via internet. I could really use some nice drum loops. I could offer pretty much any sound on guitar, or even some good information on guitar. I know some technical things with guitar, and recording... Well, good luck on the guitar! I'm sure you'll be able to put your guitar and drums together and get a kick out of that! :)

    You still taking lessons?

My cousin taught himself when he was in military high school, cuz he couldnt do anything else. He can play songs based off of tabs, but he has no clue what the notes are that hes playing.
Ive been trying to get him to start lessons.

Really. It's very helpfull if you at least know the names of notes and chords that you're playing. If you want it to be easy to play with other musicians, that is the very basic you need to know. As far as reading music and knowing advanced music theory you can do without, but boy are you missing out on alot of information and oppourtunity. I never learned to read music, but I do know some theory. I wish I would have taken the time early on to learn to read. Now I just have to make the time! You're doing him some good if you can get him into lessons, the more you know the easier it is to play along with people and interact musically. Definatly beneficial.

I would love to collaborate somehow. I'll see if I can't get a few of these things off my 909 and into /mp3 to post em up. :)

Yeah it can be pretty confusing at first. After the confusion, you still have to memorize them! Cool I'd look forward to that. I'm downloading your chinese water song right now. :) 56k sux.
