    Ford scraping bottom...

"Ford began offering $1,000 last month to employees who persuaded friends and relatives to buy a Ford. That deal runs through Sept. 30."

What a stupid idea. Who implemented that? It would be much more effective if they gave the CUSTOMERS $1000 cash. But they want their employees to be jerks and persuade family and friends. Sounds like some bad MLM marketing strategy in place there.

No wonder their stock is at $10.41 and GM is at $34.76.

I dont see a problem with it. Its a good marketing strategy. Brings in more customers, and repeat buyers!

Hm, I just see it as a weak attempt to keep up with GM employee discount sales campaign. I don't really think it's quite as effective as actually imparting savings or bonuses to the actual consumers. The consumers are ultimatley the ones supporting the company, not the workers. If Ford wants better profits, give the people what they want don't try to force it on them. They are making their employees "middle men". Just be up front with the consumer. While it is a good motivational bonus for employees you still have to offer the consumer something substantially attractive. Thats just my take on it.

yea....i agree, statik...give it to the consumer instead of just employees....instead of having repeat customers within the company's employee's family n friends...why not have repeat customers with the entire united states of america....

Yeah, my boss has one. I've borrowed it a few times. Yeah it's comfy! I love the smell of the leather too..

Ford has produced some great vehicles, but I think that they have been having problems for a while. I guess corporation goes through that in the lifespan.

yea they have, I just like those turbodiesel trucks cause of the power and if u chip them and add a few bolt ons and stuff they're fast as a motherflick , my friend had a chip, boost controller and exhaust system on a F350 and that thing picked up 60 mph in no time it's crazy but sweet as hell though

I think the only thing FORD has going for it are the new mustangs.

hehe honestly the American car companies are failing horribly due to lack of interest in the products. Plain and simple most Americans are finding that these huge monstrosities of vehicles (read: excursion, expedition, suburban, hummer, etc... etc..) are giant wastes of money that just eat gas like no tomorrow and cost too much to boot. Sure they still make sales, there are obviously some people out there that want them, but that majority would prefer say a Tacoma or a Tundra to a Z71 or a Dodge Ram (with a Hemi ... oooo i'm so skurred) ... The japanese counterparts, while they do not produce as much raw torque, don't need to... they are lighter weight, better economy trucks that get decent gas mileage and don't rape your pocket as they start out much less in cost. and that's all that matters to the consumer. GM and Ford have been shooting themselves in the foot for a long time, they have whats comin to em, and unfortunately - their bad judgement will in time hurt our economy as a whole.

Ford does have the Mustang, and their full size trucks are actually pretty good too, and if they would start selling the euro focus over here, they'd have a really good compact car... but the taurus has got to die... like, right now

ford blows......their trucks aernt as good as you make them out to be, if I was looking for a truck, ford would be the last place i would look, and yes, i have owned ford trucks. If you look really close at a ford you will see the terrible quality of the truck, the lines done line up, headlights wont fit exact, little things that shouldnt get pass quality checks.......oh, and I know a guy who works in the factory that makes all the rims for ford trucks, and the rims for the F250, F350, etc.....and up, are all unsafe because of the way Ford demands they be welded....its only a matter of time before someones rim splits into two pieces on one of those things, the company just doesnt say anything becaues ford is their biggest customer
