Need How To: Stopping license plate rattle

What is the best way to stop rear license plate rattle? I only have two screws in my plate.. so the bottom part of the plate rattles like crazy whenever I turn my stereo on. What's a cheap and effective way of getting rid of the rattle?

get those speaker carpets, cut it so that its even w/ license plate. screw it behind the license plate. u can use 1 or two layers. works w/ my other car. only rattling now is the trunk itself. only downside is when u wash ure car, it absorbs the water and u have to push the plate to squeezethe water out of the carpet

I was going to use a couple pieces of carpet tape, but wedging a piece of fabric behind it sounds better to me.

    Thanks for the ideas!

I don't know the real name of it but here we call it DumDum. It's a sort of gum that you can stick under it...I will try to post a pic.
