What price for Koni shocks

What price for Koni shocks

Hey guys, I recently lowered my car with Tein S-tech springs and I was wondering how much you guys paid for your shocks cuz I was looking into getting some Konis but I wanted to know the average price most people paid before I buy so I don't end up overpaying. I know tirerack.com sells them and I've checked it out it's about $540 for the whole set of four, anyone else with Konis get a different price?

koni's are made for stock ride height so even if you install those w/ s-tech they'll wear out prematurely just like the stock struts would.

They are? I'm glad I didn't buy them yet. Which struts would be recommended for lowerd cars?

there really aren't any out. The only ones that are out are the TRD sportivo set, which is made to be used w/ the TRD sportivo springs. These are only available on special order and take 8-12 weeks to arrive. The set of springs and struts is about $800. I have them on my car, and they're more than worth the price.

If i were you i would just get the tein wagon coilovers, they're like 750-800 but will give you a nice ride and ability to raise and lower ride height.

Tirerack says they work as long as you do not bottom out the car. Of course I have the TRD springs so I'm only dropped around 1.25"-1.5".

well, i don't think there'd be a problem w/ TRD or eibach. But w/ S-tech i'm pretty sure you'd be screwed

Thanks for the replies, so basically since Koni won't work with S-techs are there any other shocks out on the market for 03+ corollas that would be better for the S-techs?

But then again, it was my understanding that shocks wear out because of stiffer spring constants and not ride height.....?

no it's because on a lowered car, the strut is constanly compressed more than it should be.
It's basically like driving over constant bumps even when the car is parked.

translation: i'm f*cked?

pretty much........that's why i got rid of my tein and hotchkis.
