Corolla cheaper than Echo Hatchback... funny.

I just done a surprising observation while surfing on Toyota Canada website in the "shop online" section and I wanna share it with you!

When you check the price of the Echo Hatchback 4 doors "RS" you get a non-equipped car (no power windows, no A/C, no remote lock, no cruise) and if you add the optionnal cruise control and the optionnal A/C, the price is HIGHER than a fully equipped Corolla CE (w/ C package) who have A/C, pwr windows, pwr lock, remote, cruise, etc...

The Echo hatchback is supposed to be the entry-level car and for cheaper you can get a fully equipped Corolla... amazing... :?

yeah once you add options to the echo hatch that thing gets really expensive. I'd rather buy a corolla

I alway wondered why Toyota offers and HID option for the Echo and not the Corolla (and Camery??). I wish they would offer HID on the Corolla. :(

Pfff... I test drive one and it's not fast as you think. It came only with a 1.6L VVT-i engine with around 100 HP and this engine have NO torque at all. It run ok for a small sub-sub-sub-compact car and for a VERY gas economic car, but don't think about doing a race car with that cheap entry-level car.. hehe ;)

But this cheap entry-level and non-equipped car is more expensive than Corolla who are a more spacious, more powerfull and more equiped car! :?
