Any spring would be ok. Just make sure that you get an alignment done after you install your new springs. I lowered my car with TRD springs and I have the stock alloys with the stock tires. No problems...

i just got my tein H techs installed 2 days ago and so far...i LOVE it.. the drop is sweet...not too low but not as high as before...for those who are thinking about getting the h techs...i would def recommend it if youre not looking for a big drop and want to drive without worrying about bottoming out

i've ran Tein S. Techs(2.4" drop all around) with stock wheels. For some reason, after my springs settled(prolly about another 0.2" drop), i started scraping in the front driver side. Our cars ride lower on the driver side because of all the extra weight - driver, steering, battery, and tranny.

Anyway, what confuses me is that others with the Tein S. Techs dont have a problem at all and some still do. The ride looks sleek and aggressive because the car is actually at a slant(front lower than back) like drag cars. It's not very obvious..but if you compare it to Hotchkis(back lower than front), you'll see a big difference.

did you ever decide going with coilovers?

yea...in the front i can get 2 fingers in between the tire and fender in the back i can do 3 fingers. i like having the front lower then the back cause I think it would look a little odd for the back to be lower then the front

uhh ya, the rear is almost always taller then the front...

You will notice that on almost any car, especially if the suspension is still stock.

i did think about getting coilovers.. but they are to exspensive.. and i don't think i'll be changing the height of the car a lot

look at Hotchkis springs on our corolla. the back is lower than the front. any hotchkis springs owner can testify. this set up is good for autoX(depending on stiffness of course), but having the front a bit higher helps in the turnability during braking, less understeer. having the front lower on the other hand is better for drag. less air going under the car but creates heavy understeer.

    hey cocpuff and pkpss,

Do either of you know a good place to look at rims? I know which ones I like from the specs and pics online but I would like to find a local dealer so I can see the rims next to my car. Then I would probably go buy them online for cheaper.

I live in Irvine, work in Anaheim so I figured one of you may know. 8)

Not me, I just judge them based on pictures. I'm still on stocks also. I either want to get Enkei RS5s or TRDs.

you can get the TRD's w/ tires, lugs, and locks for under $1300 shipped to your door. Well worth it in my opinion.

hmmm i'm kinda both ways on the hotchkis springs it looks great it leaves a 3 finger gap in front and a 3.5 finger gap in the back but i was always taught a 2 finger drop all around was the best.(but our cars are extremely tall) Ithe ride is pretty good, turning is a lot betterand more stabel,(but i dont know if its a false sense of stability or not) i just wish i didnt feel the road so much, like when i'm chaning lanes and i hit one of those relectors on the road I really feel it. and at times it feels like the cars bouncing up and down alittle bit. but one final good note is ii can go over speed bumps pretty much normal like at 5-10 mph and i dont have to angle it and look stupid doing so. and i also havent botom out yet or broke any of my under glow neons
