When the heck will DC sports releases the corolla headers? Or, can the celica GT headers fit into corolla 1zz?

Or do u guys have other kind of headers that do improve?

Yep, I think that these are the best on the market right now (at least for a S/C car).

I would say go with JP. They are a great company showed amazing service to everyone in the gb and gave great deals. I dont think there was one complaint by any matrix or corolla guys. Has anyone from the boards seen a gb go so well. :) I guess it was a combination of good organizer and a good company though.

JP's the best for sure. Just installed mine last night... It truly is a state of the art, beautifully engineered header. Perfect fit, well built and CNC machined smooth inlets and collector, ceramic coated inside and out.
I also removed the large ridge on the lower half of engine's exhaust port outlets, enlarged another 1/16" all around and smooth bored down to the split (about 1 1/2" deep). So the outlet is now about 1/4" larger in diameter, and still almost 1/8" smaller than header inlet diameter...
Now she really runs strong, cool sound too! 8) and it only cost me $406.84 Cdn$ total!

dominators got some good experience with the JP Header. I wish I can have one too, but they're not CARB approved. The header itself is like $350, which isn't bad. From what I hear of its performance, I could go for something like that. Even if they're not CARB approved, I feel they will pass emissions regardless. Maybe just the initial visual inspection may not pass.

Read the entire thread - the problem isn't the header, especially since a header isn't going to affect the cat.[/b]

Yeah, it's not the header, it's people's A/F ratio that's killing the cats.

I say let the cat go bad and then get a high-flow one put in

Damn dude, how much performance gain did you feel cause I can do this myself. Can't wait to P&P my extra head and port-match the headers and custom intake manifold for some serious air flow

Ok so JP header is the best to get. Now, since I won't be able to get s/c anytime soon (since I live in Australia, forget it pal, parts are so crap here had to import AEM from USA), so i will have N/A set up. What is the best cat back diameter for 1zz-fe? I think 2' should be enough for this engine, but what do u guys think?

And where can i buy JP Header from?

2.25" with a naturally aspirated setup. That's what most people got. Some have 2.5" but nothing bigger than that or lose too much backpressure.

Well, I had already removed the ridge and polished it a bit a while ago, with some improvement. I did a more thorough job and enlarged a bit more when I installed the header, for a substantial improvement. So I can't really say how much was gained from what... I had already installed a CAI. Then, I smooth bored the TB with coolant bypass, removed flaws and enlarged intake manifold's outlets to match intake ports, and polished intake ports down to injector bulge tip, also about 1 1/2" deep. Working the intake gave me more gain than with the CAI alone. I also have a 2" Cherry Bomb muffler welded on stock exhaust. All this gave me a really strong runing N/A setup for little cash. I do have a bit more low end torque now and a good wide powerband...

Weight reduction and cost. My mom's old 1995 Olds 88 LSS with the 3.8L V6 had a plastic manifold.
