what kind of engine swap? all possible swaps? easiest swap?...im sure you know this as it has been stated many times..almost anything is possible with enough money...btw, just curious, what were you thinking on swapping? 3sgte? :mrgreen:

I don't know much about the different Toyota engine and I never saw one on a 03+ corolla. The 3sgte is from a Celica fifth generation right ?

Somebody told me that the swap of a 4AGE 20V BLACK is easy but it's a 1.6L with 165 hp.

I know you can do anything with a lot of money but what can be done with an affordable price ?

2zz,camry I4 motor, and the 4age never thought of that motor. FWD i4 into a FWD car

id like to see somebody try swapping a 1mz-fe into a corolla

I'd like to see someone mount the engine parallel with the body and make it a RWD drifter similar to the early Corolla GTS models. That would be sweet. :twisted:

2zz...might as well trade in the car for the XRS. save you money on the installation. and you get better handling.

3sgte and AWD would be cool. like that of the 5th Gen GTFour.


the 4AGE 20 Valve...i believe its illegal in the US...but if you dont think you'll get caught..go for it.

If you're gonna go RWD, might as well go for the 2jz....n/a or FI....either way...it would still be bad@$$... It seems as if theres enough space under the hood for a big engine! there's all tha space in there!

but then again...like what brownbanana had said...anything's possible if you have money. I say...wait it off until youre engine blows. and then 15 years from now.. swap in a crazy @$$ engine.

our engine's are still good to swap out... save the money for other things then a swap..

you're kidding about the 2jz. i like to see that happen, need to do a lot of hammering with the firewall to make it fit. and i really do say major hammering to make it fit.

i dont think it'd actually be that hard to make a 1mz-fe fit, but the wiring would be a bitch!

if you have money... put in Mazda's Rotory engine.... lol


na.... just kidding.... just a 3S-GTE engine, rebuild it, put on bigger turbo. and you'll be pushing 350+whp

well the 2az-fe in the tC is almsot same as the 4cyl. camry motor..peak hp and torque numbers are 160/163 to flywheel.

You can go all the way to 500WHP easily if you build it right. There is a 7th gen Celica running over 500WHP with the 3SGTE swap in his car.

Rick (raamaudio on MO) had his Trix checked to see if the 3SGTE with All-Trac system would fit and it would. The problem is that it would be about 20K to make it work right and then you add about 10K of engine and tranny work to make it 500WHP :shock:

Would be hella sick to see it though, I might think about it after college :twisted:

Damn. Tx for all the info. The 3SGTE is very interesting. Here in Quebec, Canada in a Toyota dealer, they sell the TRD S/C for 5500$/can without the installation. So I think the best solution for more hp is a turbo kit or an engine swap. There's a shop here in montreal (Nagano Import) that do engine swap. I wonder how much I can pay for a 3SGTE ?

yes i know, but you would need to put down alot of money for those kind of power.. i said 350hp just to be on the safe side..
there was a 98 corolla that has an 3S-GTE swap done by EL Prototypes that has 500WHP... i've seen it in person.

3sgte is the best engine for the performance. IF you are going to swap, do it right. IT can run 12's or 11's without too much work.
