Will the Corolla XRS only be out for 1 year?

I have read somewhere that Toyota plans only to build 5000 units. Is this just for one year? I sure hope not.

i dont think the XRS will last. Not to be a pessimist. Unless they make major changes to the engine by increasing torque extensively, i think the 1zz still rules. The 2zz - you can either get a celica GT-S, or a Matrix XRS, or a Corolla XRS. The celica GT-S would still do well(if they continue which i hear they wont-this year's the last) because its a nice coupe(racing oriented). The Matrix XRS will still do well because its a completely new style, its a sporty 4 door wagon(very convenient for many passengers and trunk space). The corolla on the other hand is a simple economy compact sedan.

Toyota will definitely sell a number of XRS models due to the power and handling but i dont believe it would be enough to continue it for another year. It would be more feasible and profitable, to sell the Corolla S(with upgraded handling) with the Supercharger already installed. It would come out to about the same price as that of the XRS, and they wouldn't have to worry about putting in the 2zz in the manufacturing plant. just put all 1zz's in them and have a selected quantity with the S/C installed and add a S/C emblem on it.

just like those Toyota Previa's with the S/C. heheh... its funny how it's a blown minivan, but apply the same idea for the corolla

Is the Celica 1zz/2zz tuned different than the Rolla S/XRS?

yep, eather would be good. Also not such a tall body. I am sure a lot of dori dori people would like to see the corolla rwd vs awd. Plus isn't awd more expensive then rwd?
