ok....dropped my 2003 corolla 2"...confused as hell...got an alignment right after (which was a bad idea to go sears because they bent my rims and denied it)...the ride is still a little bumpy over 60 mph...dont think it made a difference aligning or not...but do i need to do anything else?...if it helps i can put the specs sears gave...i dont know how to read it..heehee....

I also have H&R and did just what you did, alignment right after, pretty much the same thing with the ride quality, are you still on stock shocks??? I am, and I took a trip to NY shortly after I did my Drop, and the roads there F'd up my car, I though the ride quality was mostly due to those roads. It is starting to be a little bumpier ride now, I think my shocks have gone a lot quicker after my road trip

I'm on H&R sport springs and still with stock shocks and no problems for me. Because I have 18s, the ride quality dropped compared to stock wheels.

I went for alignment and the right rear wheel was slightly off, meaning it won't cause any damage to the tires with rotation done regularly. The tech adjusted it back to stock specs.

For alignment, I guess he probably adjusted the camber or toe, not too sure about the alignment stuff. But it has something to do with it.

As for tire rotation, just rotate them front to back and vice versa every time your car gets an oil change or scheduled service.
