    KONI shock owners!!! Please respond!!!

    Hi all,

I am interested in getting after market shocks and struts. Only one that's available now is KONI Yellow shocks, and they are around $500 from tirerack.com. I am on Tein S, Stock shocks, and 18 inch rims w low profile tires. As you could guess, my ride is getting little harsh these days. They might be gettting worn out.

    So, how's your KONI?
How does it compare to stock shocks? comfortable? more bumpy? better handling?
I feel every little bumps on the road, and it's pretty far from comfy. Please let me know.

from what i hear sportivo gives better comfort than Koni while still aiding in performance. Koni is more for performance. TRDRoLLa said that the combo of Sportivo struts/springs is as good if not better than stock ride. Also it is better than the ride on TRD springs.

    the shock

    Hmm, interesting.
Sportivo is from TRD right? How much is it? and where could I order it from?
I checked the previous post about it, but there was no info about where to order and stuff. Thanks.

it is by TRD. It's available from the dealership as a special order part. I'd get in contact w/ TRDRoLLa he got a good deal on his. the strut and spring combo will run around $800.

What would work best with Tein H-Techs? I don't know what to get, but after about two years.. the ride has slowly gotten... eww. I checked out a Camry my mom is looking at... wow... that thing rides so nice.

I also have the koni's. On the softest setting, they ride "sporty"....almost like a celica gts. On the firmest setting the ride can and will get annoying. I like em cuz I can adjust the damper.

I adjusted my shocks back to their softest setting a few days ago. To tell you the honest truth, they don't feel any more comfortable than when I had them on the hardest setting. Either way I feel every single bump and dip in the road. But hey... when I'm hittin' those corners, I can't complain! :-D
