    GTI #'s??

Does anyone know the 1/4 mile and 0-60 or curb weight of a new Golf GTI 1.8t??

My neighbor is getting one and want to know how its stands against the Supercharged Rolla.

    Re: GTI #'s??

    www.car-stats.com saids 6.5 @ 0-60

Manual SC corolla runs about 6.5 @ 0-60 too..

car and driver got 6.5 to 60 too. The Blue Book says curb weight is 2932 for the manual. Couldn't find a quarter mile time, somewhere in the 15's i'm sure

with a simple APR chip he'll rock your 6.5 without breaking a swet.

check out http://www.goapr.com/ for more info on how quickly and easily a 1.8T can be modded and run really great times.

your sc 'rolla is quite impressive though. a 6.5 is really good for what was orgiinally something around 8 seconds. job well done.

i checked out GTI's last nite and a hopped up version does not look like something u want to mess with, 1.8L Turbocharged 5valve  it already makes 180hp and 173lbs of torque stock, just imagine how much u'd get by cranking up the boost

...moderately modded GTI or Jetta (chip, intake, exhaust, and down pipe) will put a serious hurt on a Corolla. I see several every week and they're pretty mean, the only area I find them lacking in i that they weight quite a bit.

Unfortunately, after a couple of mods the guy with the GTI should be able to easily lose you.

hmmm... i've been checking the GTI's out a little since u brought em up and i'm really starting to like em. Yesterday they had a Golf R32 up at school and that thing looked mean. a 3.2L V6 with AWD!! i really like my corolla but this thing looks reallllllly tempting, and the performance just leaves the corolla in the dust...

There is a 1200 hp golf on the cover of eurotuner... that thing is sick. But the only thing still stock is the block, hahaha

The Dahlback that you're speaking of actually has an Audi inline 5 cylinder (that's no longer produced), so it doesn't have the 3.2l VR6 engine in the R32.

If either of you read that article, traction is still a big issue. I'd rather settle for HPA Motorsport's 409 whp R32. That's driveable everyday, plus it looks relatively stock... sleeper!.

doesn't the HPA R32 do 0-60 faster than the Mclaren?

Not sure, but I know that eurotuner had an article a couple months and listed the ET in the 11's for HPA's R32... that's fast in my book!
