Another intake (SRI) question - investment!?

My question is now regarding the investment!!!

As we all know here, we always "'get for what you pay" ... in other words, if you buy a cheap part for your car... there's a big chance that the quality will be lower than brand names. For exemple, the TRD Strut bar versus the $20 ebay's ones. I know it's a complete debate on its own.

As my other topic stays, I'm planning of buying a SRI (short ram)... Beside the filter at the end... a tube is a tube, correct? I only need to be sure that there's the place to put the MAF on it ?!

Or is there a real difference between a AEM (for exemple) intake and the "el cheepo ebay's ones" ?

I'm planning to change the "el cheepo" filter with a K&N cone that I've got.... so should I get a real brand name intake or take any available cheap. I found one in Montreal for USD 60.00...

    So?!?

for the most part... but the tube is a specific size and has specific angles for a reason (not just to fit somewhere) . I think if the cheap one looks pretty similar then go for it... you wont be missing out on very much of a HP loss, if any.
