Get anything made by DEI - which is Viper, Hornet, Sidewinder, Python, Valet, Clifford etc... pretty much anything on www.directed.com is made by them... You can find their alarms at 90% of the retailers, which means if you ever have service or usage problems anyone can help you or repair the alarm... Not to mention I have personally installed over 3000 DEI alarms and have yet to even get a single one back for any issues other than install error or something unrelated to the alarm itself like a faulty vehicle trigger.

I want those kind of alarm system that doesn't go off everytime some loud noise from nearby (ie, exhaust off other cars, semi truck or garbage truck passing by, or light impact).

I don't mind if they give off a light chirp, but won't go off until someone actually get into my vehicle and tamper with it. Which security does that?

i second DEI products most of installers recommend them...

reliable/ affordable and the sensor adjustment is not under the hood so
when it gets wet or too hot it @#$@#$%#'s up

    lol

bear im mind that alarm system is just to slow em down :x

but hey it will open the doors and trunk easier hehehe

So what particular brand is good? The only thing is the people that work at shitty stores. They're bunch of amatuers working as "security alarm" installers. They messed up my alarm system when I had my Altima. I should buy a set and have the Toyota dealer do the professional install and screw the sweat shop installation.

I have a Viper 690 VX with glass breakage and trunk release. So far it has been great. I bought it and had it installed at Tweeter.

wow, glass breakage sensors? That's good. Does your alarm go off all the time by loud noises? I get that all the time in my neighborhood and drives everyone nuts. Constant false alarms.

If it does a good job not being so sensitive, I may get that one too.

If you set it so that it is not so sensitive, (let's just say that I turn it all the way down) the alarm will still function right? It won't activate unless someone really take a beating to my car.

I'm not too good at electronics, but I would love to install a system myself if I have the know how. I don't trust the shops around here. I may just end up getting one those Viper or Python systems and have Toyota install them for me.

Does anyone know if there is a Chilton repair manual for our cars yet? I don't see them in any of the dealers or Pep Boys, Kragen, etc. as far as the 03-04 Corolla goes.

My alarm falsed once when I left my windows open at a 7-11. A truck passed by and my alarm went off because it was loud. But that's it. Like someone mentioned, you can adjust the sensetivity on the shock sensor yourself, it's pretty easy.
