    Short ram installation

I'm about to get a short ram to my Rolla. After reading reviews here and on other website I've decided to go with a short ram. I'll get one cheap on ebay (to get the tube) and use a new K&N cone filter I have in my garage.

As I leave in Montreal and the weather come terrible during winter, I'm wondering if I'll be able to put back to stock air intake for winter or do the installation of the SRI makes the switch impossible after?? Is it hard to install?

Does someone as installation instruction for short ram ?

    Or installation picture ?

I really want to be able to put back the stock intake easily.

    Thanx

installin the short ram is not hard
you basically just have to take out the stock air box, a few screws inside, the tube connectin to the throttle body and the MAF sensor
it takes around 40 mins, if you know how, thats even faster =)

for the installation guide, basically follow this guide found from Mo_Org
    http://homepage.mac.com/twilkers/PhotoAlbum10.html

and btw what K&N cone filter do you have? do you have the x-stream type?
and do you mind tellin me whats the part # of the K&N filter you have?
coz i might have to get a new filter myself as well

Thanx man... the link you sent me will be usefull!

I don't have my K&N filter model, but I'm pretty sure it's a x-stream model and I'm still not sure if it's gonna fit or not. I think all infos are on the K&N website.

I wouldn't even bother changing the intake back to stock. If you have rough weather over there, the short ram is well protected in the comfort of the engine bay.

You can put the stock intake back on whenever you like. There are no fabrication involved from installing the short ram so original stock goes back on easily.

i cant seem to find the right size K&N x-stream type filter on the K&N web site
the filter inlet sizes are either too small or too big
    the intake tube is 2.75'

    I found this...

The first colum (highlighted) represents the size of your tube. The drawing at the top left explains it weel.

If you have a 2.75" you should look at the 2-3/4 rows. They're 3 available.
