    my car shut off today

while i was sitting at the stoplight, idling, my car just shut off for no reason. it cranked right back up, but i'm worried about it now. i have no idea what caused it. its had the oil changed every 3-4k miles, and i dont dog it or race it that often. it was a really hot day and the ac was on, if that has anything to do with it. you guys have any ideas as to what caused it?

How many miles do you have on your car? Maybe a tune-up is drawing near. When the AC kicks in, it draws a lot of juice and you can see the RPM dip almost below 500 RPM for a second. It that drops too low, the car will most likely stall on you. Maybe the idle need to be readjusted?

Some Nissan technicians will want to do an engine flush, (carbon blast) all the gunk out of your motor so fuel can pass through better which prevents stalling. But that's for cars that have been driven for a long, long time with many miles. I don't think your Corolla has a clogged fuel line anywhere.

well im right at 25k miles, i guess a tune up would be wise. also, i have no engine mods at all (except for removing that white thing in the airbox).
