    Need some help

On my way home from KC I noticed that something was hitting my front passenger side tire so I pulled over and checked it out and surely enough something went through my front bumper on the passenger side and tore up the wheel well whatever you call it the plastic stuff and made 2 big holes the size of your fist and it's touching my tire, but that's not the big concern that I'm worring about. On the rest of the drive back the car acted funny and my voltage droped and the water temperature shot up to about 200F when normally it's been about 186F even driving at these temperatures and driving easy. So I stopped at the parking garage when I got back into town and check the wheel well and luckly the damage wasn't that bad, but I was leaking a lot of fluid from under the car. I think it was just water, but I couldn't smell it too good cause my hands were greasy and couldn't really tell cause of how I was parked. Any input on what it could be?

Where can I get the plastic wheel well with the rivets and bolts and stuff to replace it? I have an 05 corolla.

if you had something that came through that plastic wheel well, then you may have something that went through your radiator... you need to take it in and get it checked out... (it being under warranty being an 05 and all, shouldn't be a problem) as for the wheel well... not sure there, its too new for most of my sources...

Well I checked out the car and nothing was broken and it wasn't leaking anymore. So I'm just going to let it go unless it happens again. As for the wheel well, the plastic covering needs to be replaced since the hole is really big and it's touching my tire when i drive.

Now all I need is to find a replacement wheel well covering. Anyone know where I can get one?

honestly since its an 05 you're best bet is dealership. Most aftermarket companies are still 2 yrs behind the current on making body parts. when i put your rolla into our parts system (we use it for collision replacement) it noted it was a dealership part still.

There's a picture of what it looks like. That's one of the holes.

Thanks Vortex, I'm going to go by the dealership sometime next week to get the part.

just a thought... the dealership might rip ya... 1sttoyotaparts.com keeps all the dealer parts and sells em at or below wholesale on their website... its an actual dealership, think your part is like 50 bucks.

Thanks for advice. I got my voltage and temp back to normal. I checked and tighten all the belts.

What is the correct name of that part called or part # for the wheel well cover?

Just ordered the fender liner from the dealership. It was a little more expensive, but I can get it tomorrow, which is worth is I guess. Turned out to be about 80$ with tax and all.

Maybe it stopped leaking because whatever was leaking is empty? If I we're you, i'd get it checked out though, it shouldn't cost you anything just to get your car checked out (most garages here will check your car for free because they expect that you will get it repaired there).

That's a good point! I have a diagnostic reader for my car too and the car wasn't showing any problems. So I'm just going to roll with it for now until I can get my car on the lift again.
