hah, I got one from washingtonmutual.com the other day demanding my password be verified.

    1) not a washington mutual customer
    2) they use wamu.com not washingtonmutual.com

only retards give away sensitive information like that.
if a bank or a credit union or something really needed my info, they would at leat call me to come in, or send me an email. i still won't tell them anything over the phone.

because people respond to stuff like this with their info, millions are lost every year

Thanks for the lookout, but I don't open anything that I don't know where it comes from even from ebay.

That's old. I received lots of them already. lol. They do look real, but if you are smart, you would figure out it's a scam. It almost got me the first time I received it, but I was smart enough not to fell in it.

DUDE! Do NOT go to that link again...
We disected those kind of sites in Security + class. Some of those seem kind of stupid and easy to get around, but often times if you fgo to their site, even out of curiosity they can use that session to steal information about you. For instance, if you are a Washington Mutual customer and do online banking, they can have a script to steal all of your wamu.com cookies and use those to recreate a session at the real wamu.com as you, whether you enter a username and password or not! Same thing for ebay. I know, I saw the script for myself. :|
Next time, don't even go to the site out of curiosity. :)

soooo shouldn't you all edit his post so that 1/2 of it isn't direct links to the exact thing we shouldn't be going too? lol, too easy to click on by accident.

URLs deleted. :) I figured my post would be enough, but then I remember it was at the bottom of the page and the links are at the top. :)
    Thanks, Blokkem ;)
