Sasser Worm

    Anyone lucky enough to get the sasser worm? I do tech support for microsoft pss and xbox and we are grtting flooded with calls. Its horrible. I can't wait till they find who wrote the program....

    I'm not sure what it does ,but the other day I couldn't view any web-pages. I could get on my dsl and was connected but that was about it. This happpen for 2 or 3 days.....then some how I got it to work and ran FxGaobot and I also D/L some updates for msft. xp

    You still can get the virus then if you only downloaded the fix. I would advise you and anyone else who is reading this to go to www.microsoft.com/downloads and get Security Update for Windows XP (KB835732) which is number one right now and was number ten about a day ago. So if you haven't got it yet I would get this patch to block those ports that are vulnerable before you do cause its not pretty

    This is only for people running Windows XP and maybe Windows 2000 depending on what service pack you're running

    i had it, it keeps making my whole computer shut down.... so i just went to microsoft.com and they told me to download a patch to fix it, that's alll

    How about SP2 beta users?

    I see too many "broadband" users w/o firewalls (software or hardware-based). I use a Cisco PIX 501 Firewall in conjunction with a software-based firewall.... Never can be too sure.

    I think it would be easier for users to apply "patches" if the users visited Windows Update
