Going to seattle...where can I waste my money?

Hey, I might be heading down to seattle this weekend...maybe check out HIN...I'm in Vancouver so I'm just wondering...can I buy car stuff any cheaper down there? Or is it after customs and exchange all end up being the same? What are some good places I can find some TRD stuff or any parts for good price? Nothing too specific I suppose, if i can save some cash on it I'll probly pick it up...maybe lowering springs, exhuast or maybe car audio stuff. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot.

You probably wont save much buying stuff in washington. The real place to go is oregon. They have no sales tax so that helps some.

dang.....well I still want a set of TRD springs, most likely it will be cheaper than up here in Canada. Do all dealers have the same prices there or are they all different?

honestly, i haven't checked with most local tuner shops in the seattle area. I do most of my shopping on-line. Is HIN in town already? who knew...

i wish i could drive somewhere else to buy car parts. everything here is expensive so i just buy online and pay the jakcked up shipping prices. this island is so small. i can drive around this entire island in a couple hours on less than a half tank of gas.

Vancouver, eh? There's this really phat VW tuner in Surrey called HPA Motorsports. They modified a VW R32 to the tune of 409 whp on pump gas... That's sick!!

Since the USD is still stronger than the CAD, everything would be more expensive to purchase in the US (excluding any GST or PST). So why buy in the US?

Well my toyota dealer says that they get their stuff from TRD usa and they make money ontop of that so its more expensive to buy TRD parts here.

Well, your dealer buys parts at wholesale and then marks parts up to retail prices. Wholesale minus Retail prices less any overhead equals Profit.

I think you'd still be better off to order something from a US or Canadian based online-retailer (low overhead) for TRD parts rather than trying to source these parts from a dealer. I'll tell ya, if you go to a US Toyota dealer and ask for TRD you're going to pay a fortune!

i'm with bimmernut on that one. you're better off buying online and having them ship it to someone you know in seatle or better yet somewhere closer like blaine and go pick it up. (if you're buying from an american vendor, most likely the case)
