    Wheel/tire size?

Currently I'm lowered on s-tech's. I was wondering for those of you who would know. What's the biggest wheel/tire size I could get without rubbing and what size would you guys recommend getting?

It is a combination of backspacing and tire width. I've seen 18" wheels with a suspension lowered with TEIN S-Tech - and I've seen 16" rub on a similar setup. Only difference was the tire choice and backspacing. I assume that you will have to roll the fender to be on the safe side - if you stick with a 17" with 40mm backspacing (Toyota recommends offset range of 35mm-45mm) and sticking with 205 or 215 width tire (wheel no wider than 7") - you should be OK.

Also keep in mind some tires are wider tan others even with the same size - I had a set of Kuhmo 205/45R16 that were 1/4" thinner than Yokohamas of the same size. That was all the space I needed to clear the fender. Yokos rubbed on the smallest dip - Kuhmos didn't touch at all. If you don't want roll the fender - then you have to slip the camber to allow the wheel to tuck under there. But then you are trading tire life for fitment under the lip.

Online sources, like Tirerack, can give you a good idea of how much tire will fit with dropped suspensions - they have pretty good feedback from others that have done the same type of drop.

Thanks for the info fishexpo101. I was thinking of going 17s but didn't know all about width wise or camber. Now that I start my new job on sunday it shouldn't take as long as it usually does to save up money.

I have 15's on right now stock. They do ride pretty nice, but I want to fill in some wheel gap.

for 17's u can go as wide as 7.5" in wheel width, thats wut my gram lights are and im on 205/40/17 tires without rubbing, im on the S. techs as well but the trick to the NO RUBBING was on the tires for me. i got some Falken Ziex512 tires and they are only 6.9" tread width instead of the usual 7.2-7.8 tread width of other tires...so it sits where it just misses the fender lip

I have s-tech with 215/45/17 tire, no rubbing at all. As far as I know, you can get 18s with s-tech.

BTW people, he has a 9th gen.
