    Silverstar no more...

...well my second set of Silverstars died a week or two ago and since I have no desire to spend $40 every eight months no matter how much like like the brightness or color...(it just seems unreasonable) it was time to find a replacement. I decided to make the the switch to yellow light for my headlights, so I purchased a set of Philips All Weather bulbs (the PIAA Ion Yellow are very nice, but at $85-$115/pair not an option). The All Weather produce a nice soft yellow light that is working great in all the rain and fog my area is getting right now. They aren't quite as yellow as my Osram All Season bulbs in my foglights, probably around 2600K, they are quite functional and asthetically they really add an interesting look to the car.

sad to see the silver stars go, but the fog lights looked good. Nice meeting you the other night by the way. Nice to talk to another rolla enthusiust. Where did you say you got those motor mounts from?

...yeah, it's cool to have someone else in the area modding a new Rolla...it's not quite like SoCal or Fl but still cool. Oh yeah, I ordered the mounts/inserts from ptuning.com, hopefully they will arrive today as it's only one day shipping from Manassas, but i ordered near the weekend when they were closed.

Wow 8 months, Im almost close to a year with my bulbs, but they seem to have gotten weaker in the past few weeks. Is this a sign that theyre about to blow?

...honestly, unless you've disabled your DRLs I'm suprised they aren't dead already. That was my second set.

If you can't afford $40 every 8 months something is seriously wrong.

I don't know why people on this forum so frequently complain about the costs of things for their car. If you look at a comparisson of the car's cost to maintaining it, it's not a big deal.

Even saving 1 quarter a day will give you the required $40 for new lights.

This is just a rant of mine sorry.

Not very practical to keep buying bulbs when stock bulbs will last longer. After my first pair runs out I don't think I'm going to renew them with new ones. I'll probably end up putting back stock bulbs or invest in an HID set.
