Yellow Foglights ---- with yellow lexus style bulb sleeve

    Hey...

i have always wanted that "IS300" or "GS400" look...
especially now with my s2k retro i would love that contrast.

so i bought a pair of oem foglights (thanks to dangwang)
tried to heat them up in the oven like the headlamps... but the glue
is different... so i had to end up dremeling the sides off the open them using a razor blade and screw driver. CAREFULLY inch my inch and the lens came off.

then i unscrewed the bulb shield and bent the clip in back and slide the shield off.
then JB-Welded the Yellow Sleeve and replaced the bub shield.
End result after about a week of work:

    :D

    Sleeves were bought at www.suvlights.com | Halogen Bulbs> 9003/H4
they are originally clip on the h4 bulbs... but you remove the metal clip from the class tube. and they work great! plus they are open at the top to disapate heat from the h3 fog light bulb!

would you get similar results by just putting the sleeve over the bulb or is it necessary the weld the sleeve to the bulb shield?

very nice stuff as usual =)

    good question:
The yellow sleeves are meant to fit over h4 bulbs.
our fogs use h3 bulbs which are much smaller.
the glass tube will not fit on the h3 bulb, nor will it fit in the hole in our foglights.
thus you have to take apart the whole foglight.
    :-D

no you dont need an hid kit.
i tired yellow foglight bulbs but they are not as yellow.
i tried many different yellow bulbs... even the ones that are painted yellow and they do not get as yellow.

this is the only clean option.

i once before put yellow tint that i got at an automotve store over my fogs...
that was nice, except during the day you could see the yellow film..
    i didnt want that..
i wanted the GS400 look. clear fogs during the day... yellow when on.
