    Any Linux Ppl here?

    I just made a switch after few years with windows. Now I understend what do ppl mean by "I dont know shit about computers". Well i menaged to install Red Hat 9 on my system and to i am fine using it so far but i dont know shit.

    I've tried it out, but I could never find the drivers to get my computer out of 640x480. All the drivers availible for my video card don't work. Once you have a visual interface running it's not much harder than windows.

    Yeah, I run Linux at home. I also admin Linux and Unix systems for a living.

    I never had the time to learn linux. I bought the red hat 9 bible. I installed the system with win 2k on another partition. But then I had to uninstall and that was a pain. I did it wrong so I had to reinstall win2k as a clean install. IM glad that worked. I didnt lose my data just had to reinstall all my programs to work. One day, I will mess with linux a little more and learn it better.

    One of my friends has it, its some scary shit. I was trying to mess with him on a new aim sn, and he found out my address, dads name, isp, etc in .73 sec i think. Thats crazy.

    yea yea, I also have my win xp pro machine blegh!

    Linux isn't that difficult to use if just for normal word processing and surfing needs. But there's just so much more potential compared to windows.

    OK my windows XP crashed, my friend gave me a linux cd, and i figured why not. But now im completely lost as to how to set up my internet on it. I read something about writing a kernel or something, HELP?

    I suggest you just do a clean install of windows
    You do not want to do programming in the kernel unless you know what you're doing

    Ya i dont know, I got the kernel, and unziped it and everything, following some instructions off a website. But then it started to not like my commands. Im going to work on it some more this week.
